The Wonderful Adventures Of Bubbalon
New Release: Bubbalon Mobile 2.0 - iphone & android

We are very excited to announce the next iteration of Bubbalon for Mobile, Version 2.0!

What’s New in Version 2.0

Bubbalon 2.0 is a complete location-based sentiment-sharing tool that allows users
to “check out” anything and everything. Many location-based applications focus on
check-ins, and very few do the opposite. And, in real life, check-ins are only half the
game. Bubbalon 2.0 is a step toward integrating sentiment feedback into an everyday
behavior, and users are rewarded for “check-outs” with karma points, ribbons, and pins.
The equivalent of a “mayor” is called a “master”. By contrast to check-in apps, Bubbalon
doesn’t just focus on places. It also focuses on “stuff”. You can be a “fan” of your car,
or a “fan” of a personality, or a “master” of chess. So in each geographical area it becomes pretty
clear what people are into, and it is also helpful to know what your friends love and hate
(about this and that). BTW, instead of “friends” we now say “following” or “followed
by” — easy concept, known to many from Twitter. So here is the list of “new and
improved” (duh) Bubbalon 2.0!

  1. Easy to use, single “check-it-out” button — you can vote as many times as you
like (but the one that counts is no more than once every 12 hours)
  2. Improved Foursquare connect feature — that allows you to receive notifications,
based on when you check-in on Foursquare, so you can “check out”.
  3. Rewards system that encourages everyone to earn those ranks and ribbons, and
pile on those Karma points. STAY tuned on that Karma stuff! The next generation
Bubbalon app will allow you to trade Karma points for real stuff (iPods, movie
tickets, dare we say iPads, etc.)
  4. Similarly to some well-known game mechanics, Bubbalon 2.0 encourages check-
outs, and discourages non-participation. If you forget to check things out every
now and then, your trophy case will become “dusty”, and eventually, your hard-
earned ribbons and pins will end up “in the attic”, an imaginary place where
the “forgotten rewards” live. In order to get your rewards back, you just check
    something out, and that’s it!
  5. Leaderboard feature that let’s you compare your karma “earnings” with your pals,
and community champions. It compares participation on weekly basis.
  6. Random overall awesomeness and improved UI.

Bubbalon Goes Beyond the ‘Like’ Button Making Consumer Sentiment Actionable for Publishers

Tools Enable Content Producers to Capture and Analyze Sentiment Data

San Francisco, CA — March 29th, 2011 (Web 2.0 Expo, Emerging Technology Pavilion #7) — Today at Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, Bubbalon announced the initial release of its sentiment capture, sharing and analytics tools for publishers, marking a shift in the importance of consumer sentiment in content publishing, distribution and marketing.

“Until now, consumer preferences for content, products and services have been limited to ‘Likes’, or plain indifference - nothing more,” said Todd Hamilton, co-founder. “Our simple-yet-powerful sentiment tools invite audiences to share their opinions, making them actionable for Publishers.  When you understand how your audience feels, you can deliver a better product to them - and your advertisers.”

The tools, collectively called Bubbalon for Publishers, provide audiences with the opportunity to simply and quickly express preferences for content, products, services and brands using The Bubbalon Slider™  - a simple widget that publishers can quickly embed in their pages.

Audiences can share personal preferences with Twitter, Facebook and the rest of their social graph while publishers can use Bubbalon Analytics™ to gain insight into audience preferences with granular detail.

Preference attributes are standardized based on the category. This normalized data enables publishers to compare sentiment across product and content types making sentiment a data set that can be queried like other big data.

Bubbalon representatives are available for product demos and media interviews in the Emerging Technology Pavilion at Web 2.0 Expo, San Francisco in pod #7.
